Some time ago I posted some videos with animations created using Python, with the Numpy and Matplotlib modules. I promised the source code, but never delivered it. As I couldn't find the code anymore I decided to rewrite it, and this time I made sure I paste the code here before I publish the video http://pastebin.com/HGzF8n9k
The "spinning cube" is a classic basic animation from old-school demo codes. I learned a lot of programming doing this kind of stuff in C and assembly, and I wanted to create similar things using tools like python and matplotlib... So here it is.
This code is definitely improved over my original lost one, using things like list comprehensions, etc. That could become an interesting python coding challenge: create the smallest script that produces the coolest animation. Be my guest to modify that code and submit new videos!
On this page of the site you can watch the video online Spinning cube animation using python / matplotlib (with code!) with a duration of hours minute second in good quality, which was uploaded by the user nic w (Nic) 19 March 2011, share the link with friends and acquaintances, this video has already been watched 12,585 times on youtube and it was liked by 34 viewers.
