Sorting Data:
o To sort data in SPSS, go to Data to Sort Cases. In the dialog box, you can select the variable(s) you want to sort by. You can choose to sort in ascending or descending order.
o Sorting is useful for organizing data to make it easier to review or prepare for analysis.
Filtering Data:
o Filtering allows you to focus on a subset of your data. Go to Data to Select Cases. Here, you can filter data based on specific conditions, such as selecting only cases where the score is greater than 50.
o Use the “If condition is satisfied” option to apply specific filters. Filtered-out data will be excluded from analyses but can still be visible in the dataset (marked with a diagonal line through the row number).
