What goes on 'underneath' your IDE? You're probably used to writing code in an integrated development environment, then letting a button click compile and run your project. Before we can begin to understand some of the more advanced pieces of Java, we have to demystify what goes on 'underneath' your IDE. In this screencast we write a simple Hello World example from scratch, and show how to compile it from the command line. We touch on what a command line _is_, but using it effectively would be an entire course to itself.
