The pre-requisites needed to begin developing your own code in the Java programming language (JDK + JRE) and the tools needed to follow along with my tutorials (Eclipse IDE). I cover the process for both Windows and Linux hosts including downloading and installing the JDK and for Windows - configuring the PATH environment variables so that you can access the java compiler from the command line from any folder.
