According to the latest OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, injection flaws pose the highest security risk in a web application. A code injection happens when an attacker sends invalid data to a web application to make it do something that it was not designed or programmed to do. SQL injection, also known as SQLI, is a common attack vector that uses malicious SQL code for backend database manipulation to access information that was not intended to be displayed. This information may include any number of items, including sensitive company data, user lists, or private customer details.
