Data Sharing Agreements (DSA) or Data Use Agreements (DUA) are important documents in multi-center or consortium studies where data changes hands between parties. Especially for projects where data from multiple locations will be combined, the DSA helps to ensure that data are shared in efficient and responsible manners, minimizing downstream effort in managing data, as well as helping to prevent breeches of data safety. Roy Sabo, PhD, Associate Professor, Biostatistics at VCU Massey Cancer discusses the intent of the DSA/DUA, the identification of standard content and outlines best practices for drafting such documents.
