NODE SESSION I - Premiere
Organised by The NODE Institute, and supported by Derivative, B-dome and PlusPlusOne, the NODE SESSIONS continue the legacy of the TouchDesigner Roundtable—broadening the focus beyond a single platform to explore the full spectrum of creative software workflows. These sessions serve as a dynamic meeting point for artists, developers, and designers passionate about experience design, creative coding, and interactive media art. Anyone curious about the future of digital expression—and the minds shaping it—is warmly invited to join.
Our inaugural session takes place inside the B-dome, a 19-meter-wide geodesic dome designed for fully immersive 360° experiences. Equipped with a state-of-the-art negative-pressure projection system and six 21K Panasonic projectors, the dome surrounds visitors with striking visuals and a rich 5.1 surround sound environment. Within this inspiring space, we’ll hear from a trio of voices in the world of audio-visual performance:
Tarik Barri, renowned visual performer turned toolmaker, shares the journey behind co-developing videosync—a live visuals plugin for Ableton—and offers insight into the evolution of his creative process.
Tamara Knapp, a visual artist and designer, will share her exploration of the interplay between nature and technology through experimental, research-driven visuals, and discuss how she applies this approach in her interdisciplinary teaching.
Lukas Ruoff, VJ artist and member of the Ungrid collective, presents his approach to integrating TouchDesigner into the design curriculum at HTW Berlin, highlighting a recent fullDome project created in collaboration with his students.
To conclude, we warmly invite all meetup attendees in Berlin to showcase their content on the Dome – whether pre-rendered or live!
