Ever wonder what the pattern would look like as a fluid flows past a sphere? This simulation, created by a SAFL researcher in our Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) lab, does exactly that, showing the emergent flow velocity patterns as laminar flow interacts with a sphere.

Simulation parameters: Reynolds Number (Re) = 300, λ2 isosurfaces, 3-Level AMR coupled with an Immersed Boundary Method
