Vim Basics
I have tried to explain the basics of VIM editor in this tutorial.
Commands used
open a file: vim filename
save and exit file : wq (in command mode)
save without quit: q
To copy a word: dy
To copy a line: yy
To copy multiple lines: number of lines yy ex- 4yy
To paste: p
To delete/cut a word: dw
To delete/cut a line: dd
To delete/cut multiple line: number of lines dd ex- 4dd
