B is an early programming language developed in the late 1960s at Bell Labs by Ken Thompson.
Why B Was Created ?
1.Computers were programmed mostly in assembly language, which was hard and machine-dependent.
2.There was a need for a simpler, portable language to develop the UNIX operating system.
3. B was created as a simplified version of an earlier language called BCPL.
Key Features of B
Typeless language (no int, float, char)
Simple and compact syntax
Designed mainly for system programming
Suitable for early UNIX development
Limitations of B
No data types → caused inefficiency
Not good for modern hardware
Slow and limited for large programs
Difficult to manage memory properly
