Import CSV data directly into Excel with a single formula!
In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to use the new IMPORTCSV function to bring data from a local CSV file or web URL directly into your worksheet. The imported data spills automatically as a dynamic array, without opening the CSV file or copying and pasting its contents.
You’ll learn how to:
✅ Import an entire CSV file with one formula
✅ Import data from a local file or web URL
✅ Refresh the imported data
✅ Use IMPORTCSV with other Excel formulas
✅ Specify the source locale to automatically handle formatting conflicts on import
✅ Understand when IMPORTCSV is useful and when Power Query may be the better option
Please note that IMPORTCSV is currently available to Microsoft 365 Beta channel users only and is due for general release very soon. Availability may depend on your Excel version and update channel.
