In this video, I explain the main full-stack web development concepts that I've learned and how they connect together to build a complete web application.
I start with a big-picture concept map, then give a high-level explanation of the major components such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, the DOM, APIs, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, and deployment. I also go deeper into how API requests work between the frontend, backend, and database, followed by a simple live coding demo that shows the full-stack flow in action.
I use my project SkillBridge as a reference throughout the explanation. SkillBridge is a student collaboration platform that helps students share skills, find teammates, and connect for class projects, hackathons, research ideas, and side projects.
