This video explains what is CAN Partial Networking (PN).
Partial networking in CAN is used selective wake up method.
In vehicles, many CAN nodes are connected to a CAN network. And all nodes are active when any CAN message is available in the network even though the particular CAN message is not relevant to the Nodes. Thus the power consumption becomes high. CAN Partial Networking is the solution to reduce the power consumption.
Partial Networking use selective wake-up mechanism to wake up the node/ECUs by using a dedicated/predefined CAN message.
