The 2023 Commodore's Cup Offshore Racing Season is underway.

Organized by the Halifax River Yacht Club, the Commodore's Cup is a summer series of sailboat races, some of which will be visible from shore.

Rather than sending sailboats into deep water, the Near Shore Course brings them within a thousand feet of the sand.

The course is 10 nautical miles from Racing's North Turn to the Daytona Beach Pier.

You can watch Daytona's slowest race from the beach from a bar or from a hotel balcony.

On Friday September 1st, it's the Mac Smith Starlighter. Starting time: 6 PM.
