In this video, we will connect a raspberry pi to a motion sensor and write some python code to detect motion and send alerts to anywhere in the world.

This means that you can setup your raspberry pi at home before you leave the house. If there is any motion detected, you will get an alert. It is similar to most house alarms systems but without the setup and monthly costs.

To get started, you will need a Raspberry Pi , motion sensor (you can buy these on amazon for a few dollars) and a cable to connect pins on the motion detector to the raspberry pi’s board.

We’ll write some code for the raspberry pi to manage the sensor and send us alerts when it triggers.
