Multi IR Type Fire Detector
Multi-IR detectors have gained significant traction in the market due to their enhanced detection capabilities and reduced false alarm rates. These detectors typically rely on the CO₂ IR band at 4.4 microns, though some also utilize the H₂O IR band at 2.9 microns for detecting specific types of fires, such as ammonia or hydrogen fires.
Multi-IR detectors offer longer detection ranges and are resistant to signal attenuation caused by oil vapors, fumes, and other interference sources like welding arcs or lightning. By employing three IR sensors, each tuned to a different spectral band, these detectors can achieve detection ranges of 40 to 80 meters for standard heptane fires, even in environments with multiple IR-interfering sources.
