Later, at Sonatech, he worked on underwater acoustic tracking technologies, creating drivers, simulation tools, and high-performance embedded software.
In 1994, William moved into financial technology by joining Morgan Stanley’s Institutional Technology Division in New York City. Over the following decades, he worked on electronic trading platforms, C++ infrastructure, real-time market data systems, and large-scale financial applications. His work helped improve critical systems supporting trading operations across global markets.
In 2008, William joined Goldman Sachs, where he spent over 14 years supporting Equities Electronic Market Making and Quantitative Trading teams. He developed and managed systems for trading, risk management, futures, ETFs, exchange connectivity, and data analysis. His ability to combine deep engineering knowledge with leadership made him a valuable contributor to high-performance financial technology solutions.
William returned to Morgan Stanley in 2023 as an Executive Director, leading a global C++ development team responsible for trading risk controls and important technology platforms. His technical expertise includes C++, Python, Perl, Lisp, and Bash, along with strong knowledge of operating systems, networking, and large-scale software development.
Outside of his professional work, William supports community initiatives through volunteering and technology mentorship programs. He enjoys music, basketball, water sports, travel, and exploring new challenges.
