This is the first video in a series of videos where I will talk about Python Strings. Specifically, I will talk about what strings are, how they are represented, and how you can apply indexing and slicing on strings.

A string in Python is a data type that represents textual data. They are essentially a sequence of characters.
In Python, strings can be represented by enclosing some text with either double quotes or single quotes.
In addition to discussing what strings are, and how you can use them, I will also teach you in this video how to use the type() built-in function to determine the type of a specific variable.

I will also talk about two popular operations on strings: indexing and slicing.
