STEPS TO MOVE CODE FROM SVN TO GITLAB

Step-1 Create authors.txt file
c:/authors.txt
abcdef01 = first last < abcdef01@abc.com >
xyzabc02 = first last < xyzabc02@abc.com >
qwerty03 = first last < email@abc.com >
xzadcd04 = first last < email@abc.com >
zxcvbnm05= first last < email@abc.com >

Note: please replace < and > with angular brackets in authors.txt.

Step-2 create a directory to store your new repo.
mkdir development/project-name
cd development/project-name

Step-3 Convert development folder into repo
git init

Step-4 checkout the project from subversion, passing –no-metadata
Command syntax-
git svn snv-url-with-project --no -metadata

git svn init http://snv-url-with-project/svn/CDS-WEB/moner... --no-metadata

Step-5 Pass your authors file to match up users
git config svn.authorsfile ~/authors.txt
git config svn.authorsfile c:/authors.txt

Step-6 git svn fetch

Step-7 Enter SVN username and password

Now we need push the code from local repo to remote repo

Step - 8 add remote repo
git remote add origin git@gitlab.com:abc-banking-group/moneris-payment-java.git

Step-9 push the code from local to remote repo
git push origin master
