Difference between numeric and string variables in spss.
Basically, there are 2 types of variables in spss. the numeric and string variables.
The numeric variables contain numbers (0 to ~) and special characters like decimal points. While the string variables contain words without spacing. There are some analysis that are done only on numbers. in some cases, categorical variables are assigned numbers through coding in other to carry out some analysis.
