Step 1 : Check if java is already installed
java -version
javac -version
Step 2 : Update existing packages
sudo yum update

sudo rpm -i jdk-8u171-linux-x64.rpm
Step 4 : Select Java to be used sudo /usr/sbin/alternatives --config java
