In JavaScript, the String slice method extracts a portion of the string you call this method on and returns it. If you only specify a single argument, you're specifying the index to start the slice at. If you're single argument is negative one, that represents the last index of the string. If you specify two arguments, the first argument represents the index at which you're starting the slice, and the second argument represents the first index you're excluding from the slice. If you attempt to slice backwards, like by making the first argument index come after the second argument index, then the empty string will be returned.
