Now that we've covered the gradebook settings, let's look at creating a new class. On the far left-hand side of the global navigation main menu, the user will notice that there is a “Select Course” function. Mousing over this will activate a drop-down list where the user can see all classes that they have either created or are a part of.

Scrolling down to the very bottom of this list, there is a “New Class” function. Clicking on this will take the user to a separate page where they can set up a brand-new class. The options available to the user include a requirement to select their specific school site, the class’s period(s), and its grading term. On top of this there are more general features such as giving the class a name, basic description, and determining its final grade scale based on the user’s gradebook settings.

Additionally, for ease of organization, the user can also choose a different type of color to associate with the class. Users can also choose to add other faculty from their school such as a teacher in training who is observing the class. Mousing over “Add Faculty” will activate a list where the user can see other teachers and faculty at their school site.

Finally, users have the option of designating the class’s time frame. Here the user can select different days of the week where the class will be active along with specific times on those active days. Once the user has finalized their settings for the new class, click on “Save” in the bottom left-hand side of the page to create it.
