It's time for some basics. I was very busy last couple of weeks, I wasn't able to do any updates and new videos, sorry for that. Anyway, I'm almost done with the most time consuming work, I'm making a couple of new videos.
Some process explanation: As you can see, I've decided to include a photoshop's interface in this one, so you can see more or less what I'm really doing there. I rendered a basic cube, with very simple lighting setup. Perspective is a bit off, I was half asleep while doing this. I used polygonal lasso tool and big soft brush with low opacity to render cube planes filling the selection. I used a tiny opaque brush to add some highlights and contact shadows between cube and surface.
