Installing Linux Mint
An overview of what it is like to install Linux Mint in 2024. The install worked out the first time, but things in Linux land, if you seek to partition manually, have turned a little more involved than in the past (when you just had root and swap). Entering it, the Cinnamon interface was "rather" responsive (but had a couple of delays) and you are invited to setup an RSync backup which I simply find too complex for a newbie. Other than that, nice, polished, beautiful and easy to use system that I can, at least in this first experience, clearly recommend.
