This is a tutorial for selecting a basic wordpress theme which is one of the most crucial aspects. Because a theme governs the layout and the user experience on your website. A theme is responsible for the color combination, typography and templates of the webpage. Choosing a theme from the wordpress repository and then installing and activating the same is the process of setting up layout. Once done then it is also important to create a child theme. A child theme is the replication of the primary theme layout. But whatever modifications you need to do to your website from the backend, that needs to be done in the child theme. Next time the primary theme gets an update, it will not overwrite the changes you made. If you do not create a child theme, and directly make changes to the primary theme, then next time the theme is updates, all the changes you made will be overwritten. Thus you will have to do those changes every time the primary theme is updated. For this purpose a child theme is important.
