In this video, we look at a basic proportion word problem. We are given the following problem: Hack read 7 pages in 10 minutes. How many pages does he read in 25 minutes? To solve this, we set up a fraction proportion in which the pages are the numerators and the minutes are the denominators. We put the 'X' as the top right numerator because we want to know how many pages Jack reads and the numerators represent the pages. From there, we cross multiply, starting with the top left numerator, get our total, and then divide by the bottom left denominator.
