How do you make a game with no experience? Learning how to get started with game development is hard. The massive amount of resources out there for beginners helps with learning but makes it even harder to figure out where to begin. I wanted to share a simple-stupid tutorial for someone who has never written a line of code in their life.
This will walk you through making a complete game using the GameMaker engine with only 42 lines of code. It will include every step along the way with explanations for installing the engine, starting a new project, writing your first line of code, creating sprites, and finishing your first game.
