Description:
The shift from 2D to 3D computing is a slow process. But it can be safely said that bad user experience is one of the biggest blocker in creating delightful, useful and usable XR application and thus directly affecting general mass adoption of XR. So far, the existing design principles are closely tied with the XR HMDs and each HMD makers have their own rules. But there is a clear lack of general design principles that can be applied agnostic of devices which will help in not just designing and developing XR apps but also make them memorable experiences. These design principles are rooted in art, culture, architecture, film and media. The talk is about harnessing clues from these classical fields of design and apply them to rethink design principles for Spatial Interface Design.
