The Air Force delayed entry program and EAD briefing or Air Force Dep is basically you following up with the Air Force until your ship date. Depending on how far out your ship date is for Basic Training is how long your DEP will usually last.
Dep calls are normally 2 times a month, the second thursday of every month. You'll also setup an EAD briefing with your recruiter to make sure you're on the right track and all your boxes are ticked before shipping to basic training.
The Delayed entry program is for people who aren't quick shipping and are waiting for their leave date. There could be a bunch of different reasons you'll enter DEP.
