Edge Functions - Just Another JavaScript Function
I was recently asked to write an “edge function”. Once you understand what these are, you will realise they are not as complicate as they might sound 🤔
And of course, it’s just plain JavaScript. The same fundamental concepts are applied -making use of values like objects and arrays, and using the function “return” statement to make it clean and easy to read.

In this video, I explain the basics of what edge functions are, how they run between the user and the server, and how they intercept HTTP requests. You'll see a simple example of an edge function written in JavaScript.
Many hosting providers, like Vercel and Netlify, allow you to write your own edge functions if you want to experiment with them 💪
