can be accessed :
1. from same class
2. Another class in same package
can not be accessed
1. from outside the package

can be accessed :

private:
Private data members can be accessed from same class only
--------------------------
Protected:
1. from same class
2. Another class in same package
3. Another class from outside the package through inheritance only
