Energy: GSE, renewable energy production increases, incentives decrease
Increasing commitment to supporting sustainability and energy efficiency
(ROME). Sustainability is increasingly becoming a key word, especially in the energy sector. This is demonstrated by the fact that in 2018, energy production from renewable sources increased, the net incentives on bills decreased by approximately one billion (from 12.5 to 11.6 billion), and 45 million tons of CO2 were saved, triggering "green" investments worth €2.6 billion. Last year, Italy achieved 18.1% of its total energy needs from renewables, and over a third of electricity consumption (34.4%) was covered by renewable energy generation plants: this means that for every 10 kWh produced in Italy, more than 3 are green. The snapshot of the sector is the one taken from the 2018 Activity Report of the Energy Services Manager, presented in Rome in the presence of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Development, Davide Crippa (Teresa Ciliberto/alanews)
