This video explains how to create context based time intelligence function that dynamically changes based on the visual hierarchy level in direct query mode.

In the previous video(   • Time Intelligence (YoY) in Power BI using ...  ), we saw how we can create a Time Intelligence function on a Fiscal calendar at a Period (Month) level. Since this is a custom function created for a period, it wouldn’t work for other levels like, say a week or a quarter because the function uses filters specific for a period. So we would have to create multiple measures for each level to accomplish this.

But the question arises:

What if I need a measure that adapts itself for the hierarchy level in context. i.e. without me trying to change the measure every time for different time hierarchy like if I need the data for a week then I will have to replace the period measure with week measure and so on, but rather just use one measure that changes based on the hierarchy level displayed in the table/matrix

What this means is, I need the ability to switch between different measures created for each level based on the time context of the table/matrix. We are going to create these measures along with a Relative measure that dynamically changes based on context.
