This quick Blender tutorial shows you how to add text and make it 3d in a few easy steps.
You will see the steps displayed in the bottom left corner and the shortcuts I use in the bottom right corner so you can easily follow along.

Steps:
1. add - mash - text
2. edit mode: change the text (exit edit mode to confirm)
3. object data - font
4. object data - geometry - extrude
object data - geometry - bevel - depth
5. object data - paragraph - alignment
6. object data - paragraph - spacing
