Replace function in excel is a text function which is an inbuilt function and similar to substitute function, this function is used to replace an old text from a string with a new string, the input required by this function is the old text new text and the starting numbers and ending numbers of the characters which needs to be replaced.

=REPLACE (old_text, start_num, num_chars, new_text)
𝐀𝐫𝐠𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

old_text = The text to replace.
start_num = The starting location in the text to search.
num_chars = This is a numerical value and shows a number of characters to replace.
new_text = This is another parameter required and shows the new string / set of characters to replace the old text with.
𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫

#1 - 2nd parameter i.e. Start cannot have a negative or non-numeric value.
#2 - 3rd parameter i.e. Number of chars can not have a negative or non-numeric value.
