Wordpress Tutorial | Adding Categories to wordpress site
Hello Guys!
In this wordpress tutorial, I am showing you how you can add categories into wordpress. Adding categories is very easy in wordpress.
To add categories, loging to your wordpress blog and go to admin area. Click on "Categories" link under "Posts".
Here you will see the options to add new categories.
On this page, "Name" is the category name.
Slug is a friendly wordpress url and if you want to have a short url, you can enter a slug here.
You can select a parent category also if you want to create this as a child category.
You can also enter a category description and it's better to enter a description as search engines rank well your category pages.
Once you enter all this information, you can add the category by clicking "Add New Category" button.
Once you add these categories, now if you want to add new posts, you can see these categories in your post template and you can select these categories and categorize your posts.
