Hello and welcome again to day 7 on teaching yourself selenium webdriver with java
Selenium uses items it calls locators to find and intereact with elements or objects on a web page
Web elements are
Edit box, link, Button, Image, Text area, checkbox, radio button, dropdown box, list box, combo box, web table, frames
These strategies or techniques in using locators to identify and interact with web elements is at the very core of the functions of selenium webdriver
On any web page to find out the locator on an element or object say a checkbox you right click on the checkbox and select 'inspect' from the list presented
Developers tool window will open showing HTML code used to create the web page highlighted in blue will be the HTML code used to create the particular web element being inspected
The HTML code for all elements will start with a open tag closed tag it starts with a TagName and all the names of the attributes associated with the element created
by the developer using these properties
It's key to understand all these locators has it's core to what selenium uses to automate actions on any web pages
