Tutorial of Ableton's Operator synth plugin. I go over all the different buttons and settings and briefly explain what FM synthesis is. Operator is the FM synth that comes with Ableton Suite. Operator has 4 operators and various different algorithms. There's even a standard multimode filter as well as non-sine oscillators so you can use Operator as a subtractive synth if you wanted to. FM synthesis is based on modulating sine waves as audio-rate. When one oscillator controls the pitch of another you start to get timbral shifts which you can then use to make any kind of sound.
