Responsibilities:
Design and develop and support the Company’s suite of applications and systems
Develop new client – facing features
Write reusable code and libraries for future use
Follow best practices in development
Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Organize code into logical and maintainable units
Independently research potential development solutions
Manage software systems in an efficient manner by automating operations
Collaborate in a team environment
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience with the following:
Mandatory:
Full Mastery of Java programming language (Java 8 and above)
Proven record of delivering full software life cycle to production
Experience working in an iterative or continuous delivery/development environment (Agile, SAFe, etc.)
Knowledge of full stack development
Adept at working on multiple projects
Strong oral/written communication skills
Must have active Canadian secret security clearance
Desirable:
Experience with GIS software systems (Example: Luciad, ESRI, Geo Tools, NASA, etc.)
Experience with JIRA
Experience with Git
Strong interest and understanding of vector rendering and symbolization, for example Scalable Vector Graphics(SVG)
Strong interest and understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and a desire to work in this area
Experience using GDAL (GeoSpatial Abstraction Library)
Understanding of the following GIS topics:
Geographic projections, transformations and coordinate systems
Raster formats (geotiff, DTED, etc.)
Vector formats (shapefile, Esri File Geodatabase, GeoPackage)
Map servers and protocols (OGC)
GIS applications – thick client and web based
Geographic data modeling
Script writing experience (Python, bash)
Simulation and modelling experience
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: $80,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
