Shows how to use the ExecuteRuleEngine processor in Apache Nifi to update incomming data.

Data is read from a file, processed by the ruleengine and output to a file. Based on the results of running the business logic, a field in the data stream (in the flowfiles) is updated to represent a status.

The business logic is defined in an external web application. The result is a much simpler dataflow. Also the responsibilities can be devided: IT constructs the data flow and the business expert orchestrates the business logic. And no logic is hardcoded in the flow which is a big plus for quality and agility.
