Jumping Issues

Here’s some slow motion footage of me trying to get some lift into my Inmotion V5F. Now this is not a heavy wheel in comparison with some, but as you see getting it to lift is a problem! I jump, but no matter how hard I try to grip, my legs just slide up and the wheel clears the ground by barely an inch. Is it my shoes? Or do I need something to hook my ankles under on the wheel itself? How do others manage, I wonder?
