Requirements to Complete this tutorial:
If you can import model, make an camera animation and export it as clip - thats enough.
I showed 1 way to make DoF in SFM, because its kinda best one.
There is 2 other ways to do DoF in sfm,
1) Put greenscreen model under your character.
Add Greenscreen with your Character and Record it, then hide the model and greenscreen and record second shot as background.
2) r_depthoverlay 1 command to export Depth Map.
Record your scene then record same scene as other shot with enabled "r_depthoverlay 1" command then do your work in AAE :)
