This beginner video will explain what happens when a programmer uses grid in its simplest form. By calling grid without any arguments or configurations, one can realize how elements of a GUI application will stack upon another in the first column. This is the simplest way of using grid and does not achieve much.

Another element covered in this video is how columns and rows will compress themselves in order to take the size of whatever they are containing. This may seem simple at first but can be misleading when a beginner decides to place something inside a container like a frame. The widget will seem like it is no longer there but it is simply its own system of columns and rows compressing to take the size of what you placed inside of it.

The beginning of this video has a quick review on previous elements in order to force the viewers to practice. If not needed, one can skip to 4:30.
