I show how cursor agent hooks in Cursor (and the same hook ideas in Claude Code) replace pleading with scripts that actually run when your agent hits a boundary.

I walk through what hooks are, why prompting alone is not enough, and how deterministic hooks fire at real moments in a session (start, tool use, submit, and more). Most of the screen demos are in Cursor, including a start-day skill flow, a text-to-speech hook so I do not have to hear every long reply, a workspace hook that blocks permanent deletes, a before-submit date and time hook that works in both Cursor and Claude Code, and a secrets-style hook that stops .env reads from dumping into the terminal.
