DIY keycode locking device changing lock
No need for an expensive keypad, make your own from cardboard and paper fasteners! Ok, well maybe there is a need for an expensive keypad, but this can get you going.
This keypad matrix is attached to some AND gates. When the correct sequence is entered, a relay opens, indicated by the LED. The LED sequence is a 555 timer driving a 4016 decade counter, just to give a cool indication the lock is about to open. It's kind of old school, but fun.
