making a basic building using facades for each side and corner type that can be realized on a grid.. there are 9 sides and corner types and many variations of widows for each which can be open or closed on either end.. a script was used to generate the facades.. they can be replaced..
python + geometry nodes gives the best of both worlds.. precision and speed.. python would take about 10 seconds to generate a building and on the other hand, there is still a ton of logic that has not yet been transferred over to geometry nodes (its still a nightmare to work with).. logic is a lot easier to implement in a script than nodes, the only downside so far has been transferring data between the two.. vertex groups seem to be the only way to do so and they are not reliable, especially when dealing with edges/faces and not vertices.. material shaders can access object data properties - it would be nice to have the same functionality in geometry nodes..
