Hey, IT people! This time, we're going to see how to make an automatic Nextcloud backup. I'm going to set up this system on Debian GNU/Linux, although it can be adapted to any other compatible Linux distribution, such as Ubuntu, for example.
Along the way, we'll install an external hard drive on the server that has an NTFS partition, which we'll support in Debian and add to FSTAB so it mounts automatically at boot time. Next, we'll back up both the file system and the database, and we'll set up a small script that will automate the backup. Finally, we'll see how to restore backups in case of disasters, so I, and many of you, can rest easy knowing you have a backup up your sleeve if something goes wrong.
