If anyone ends up watching this one, know that this bug was properly reported and quickly fixed! Brakes behave like they aught to once again.
I noticed an odd bug in the Open Rails brake simulation pop up recently; the equalizing reservoir pressure will instantly drop to the minimum reduction pressure!
This bug was not present in OR New Year Monogame revision 87 but was introduced in 88. This test compares an identical brake test between version 87 and 88, using locomotives modified to charge the brake pipe to 120 psi at release and reduce pressure to 40 psi at minimum reduction.
In revision 88, the ER pressure changes immediately from 120 psi to 40 psi, which is wrong. The ER pressure should slowly reduce from 120 psi to 40 psi at a rate of 5 psi per second. Revision 87 features the correct behavior, where the ER pressure gradually reduces from 120 psi to 40 psi.
Note that there is only a discrepancy with minimum reduction. When I release the brakes, both cases behave remarkably identically.
