Volatility is one of the best memory analysis tools out there so far though there are others. Having both versions means more arsenal for your memory analysis needs not unless you enjoy waiting for kdbgscan or imageinfo results =)
Yeah Volatility3 now uses python3 and do away with profile scanning anymore though plugins are not that much yet compared to Volatility2 it is still best to have Volatility for your other capability needs which exists in Volatility2 plugins.
